Great network storage5
We purchased this the HP Media Vault Pr mv5140 for a small business and put it on the network to relieve some pressure from one of the older servers. We set it up in RAID 1 configuration. It was extremely easy and simple to set up. Plug it in, configure the unit as RAID 1, and start copying files. HP has done an excellent job in producing a product that is great for small business or home users.

Actually, I like it so much, I will buy another myself for home use. And another for a client to use as a web enabled file server for people scattered around the US.

Great Budget Server5
The server was recognized with no problems. Loaded the HP software, customized a few settings, and then slowly started adding my media to the server. Twonky's built in media server works wonderfully with the PS3 and streaming to other computers works just as well.

Helpful note: Do not add too much media at once. It will crash the Twonky media service. I usually limited my file transfers to about 2GB. Restart the media server and you should be in good shape.

Excellent hardware, some software problems3
Pro
The product is very nicely designed. Installation on Windows Vista did not take long and was smooth.

Con
* The included backup software fails to handle Unicode filenames. So if you have folders or filenames with accents or non-English characters, it won't backup them up.
* The unit requires using HP specific software. There is no standard SFTP server.
